Short Ballot Title   AN INITIATIVE AMENDING THE IDAHO OPEN MEETING LAW BY AMENDING THE DEFINITION OF GOVERNING BODY; AND INCREASING THE FINE FOR VIOLATIONS.
     
Long Ballot Title   AN INITIATIVE AMENDING THE SCOPE OF THE IDAHO OPEN MEETING LAW BY ALTERING THE DEFINITION OF GOVERNING BODY TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL ENTITIES; AND INCREATING THE FINES FOR VIOLATIONS OF THE OPEN MEETING LAW FROM A MAXIMUM OF $150 TO A NEW MINIMUM OF $300, WITH A MAXIMUM OF $1,000.

Idaho Code 67-2341(5)

Governing body" means the members of any public agency which consists of two (2) or more members, with the authority to make decisions for or recommendations to a public agency regarding any matter. Any committee, commission, etc that operates under any public agency, whether it receives funding from said agency or not is subject to the open meeting law.

Idaho Code 67-2347(2)

Any member of the governing body governed by individual who violates the provisions of sections 67-2340 through 67-2346, Idaho Code, who knowingly conducts or participates in a meeting or orders a meeting closed which violates the provisions of this act shall be subject to a fine of one hundred fifty dollars ($150) three hundred dollars ($300) for a first violation and not to exceed three hundred dollars ($300) one thousand dollars ($1000) for each subsequent violation as a civil penalty.
