Idaho Secretary of State

Our Goal is Simplicity

As your Secretary of State, it is my pleasure to serve the people of Idaho and to welcome you to the Idaho Secretary of State website. In our effort to provide you with better information and increase the efficiency of our services, we have designed this site with our three major divisions in mind—Business Services, Elections, and Government Services.

Many of our Business Services are now available online which makes it easier to start and run a business in Idaho. These services include filing an annual report, searching for a business entity, monitoring your business identity, and more. This division also handles notaries and apostilles, liens, trademarks, and video franchise information.

Our Elections division works to ensure the accuracy and integrity of Idaho’s elections. By maintaining and modernizing the security and integrity of our election system, it is our intent to have every voice be heard and every vote counted properly. Our mission includes increasing transparency of campaign finances by simplifying the process of submitting and accessing disclosure reports.

Our office is also responsible for providing certain Government Services. These include producing Idaho’s Blue Book and several other publications, maintaining Idaho’s will registry, and providing an Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) for people who need to escape domestic violence, abuse, or stalking.

In addition to the resources available on this website, the Secretary of State’s knowledgeable staff is also dedicated to providing you with timely information about our services. Should you need additional information, please contact the appropriate division. We look forward to serving you.

System Upgrade In Progress

Campaign Finance, Lobbyist Reporting, and Online Voter Tools are expected to be offline from April 9th at 5:00 p.m. MDT, through April 12th at 8:00 a.m. MDT to complete a system upgrade.

Per Idaho Code 67-6607, campaign finance is reported monthly during a campaign’s election year. The deadline for the March report falls on Saturday, April 10th. Due to the interruption caused by this upgrade, political treasurers will be allowed to file the March report until 11:59 p.m. MDT on Monday, April 12th.

While we do our best to ensure compliance with all deadlines in statute, the timing of this release is critical to ensure minimal (or no) impact to the May election cycle. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
