Beginning July 1, 2017 commissioned notaries may become authorized to perform electronic notarial acts by registering with the Secretary of State. To do so, you must file the Authorization for Electronic Notarization form. In preparing the form, you must select a tamper-evident technology for use in electronic notarization. It is the responsibility of the notary to ensure that the technology is sufficiently tamper-evident, pursuant to 51-120, Idaho Code (2017).
If you are uncertain, or need further information to select your electronic notary technology, please refer to the National Electronic Notary Standards adopted by the National Association of Secretaries of State, for guidance.
