Electronic Poll Book Certification Hearing Set for Tuesday, April 23

Boise, Idaho – Idaho Secretary of State Lawerence Denney announced an e-poll book certification hearing for Tenex’s Precinct Central is set for 10 a.m.–noon Tuesday, April 23 in Boise.

The public demonstration and certification hearing will take place at the Idaho Capitol Building, 700 W. Jefferson St., Room WW17, Boise, Idaho. The public is invited to attend and participate in the hearing process.

“This demonstration gives Idaho voters an opportunity to learn about this potential voting system option,” said Secretary Denney. “We are pleased to offer an additional choice to county election officials as part of our current undertaking to improve our critical election infrastructure.”

Precinct Central is an electronic poll book, a device designed to ensure efficiency and accuracy during the voter check-in process at the polls. This device has been certified by National Testing Systems (NTS) and evaluated by NAD Security. Pursuant to Idaho Code §34-2409, the Idaho Secretary of State must certify voting systems before they can be used in Idaho.

His public service began as a representative in District 13 and, following redistricting, he became a representative in District 9 until 2014. System Upgrade In Progress

Campaign Finance, Lobbyist Reporting, and Online Voter Tools are expected to be offline from April 9th at 5:00 p.m. MDT, through April 12th at 8:00 a.m. MDT to complete a system upgrade.

Per Idaho Code 67-6607, campaign finance is reported monthly during a campaign’s election year. The deadline for the March report falls on Saturday, April 10th. Due to the interruption caused by this upgrade, political treasurers will be allowed to file the March report until 11:59 p.m. MDT on Monday, April 12th.

While we do our best to ensure compliance with all deadlines in statute, the timing of this release is critical to ensure minimal (or no) impact to the May election cycle. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
