The Idaho Secretary of State is seeking Web Developer and Designer to join the Information Technology Team at the Idaho Capital in Boise.
The Department is looking for a hybrid Web Developer/Designer, with current working experience at all levels of the Software Engineering life cycle to join our small but highly driven team.

The ideal candidate will be both experienced with WordPress and a strong background in graphic design and designing user interfaces.

Example of Duties

Primarily responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing the Secretary of State website, IdahoVotes.gov website, and any future web presences under the supervision of the IT manager.

        • Edit, maintain, and oversee the publication of the Idaho State Blue Book bi-annually.

 

        • Provide visual web page mockups and UI/UX wireframes.

 

        • Provide Web development/support for SOS staff and customers.

 

        • Work with end users to identify software solutions.

 

        • Analyze, design, develop, test and implement new web applications.

 

        • Work with and support other Development Team members in a collaborative effort.

 

        • Create documentation for department applications.

 

        • Provide application support to department employees, in person and over the phone, in a professional, polite and respectful manner.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

        • Preferably within the last five (5) years, candidates have at least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in information technology (IT).

 

        • Significant experience and provable working familiarity in both digital and print design functions and software including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign (be prepared to provide work samples/portfolio).

 

        • Experience working with customers to develop requirements specifications, performing systems design and analysis, writing specifications and developing applications appropriate for multi-user/multi-tasking environments.

 

        • Experience working with Structured Query Language (SQL).

Desirable Qualifications:

        • Experience with WordPress web development and/or PHP.

 

        • Experience with Microsoft’s SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).

 

        • Experience with Microsoft’s SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

 

        • Experience working with JavaScript, JQuery, Ajax, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

 

        • Experience writing in current versions of .NET using C#.

 

        • Experience with business intelligence projects, data mining using complex queries and programming data visualization components.
