2022 General Post Election Audit Preliminary Results

On Tuesday, November 22, 2002, Idaho Secretary of State Lawerence Denney announced the completion of the 2022 General Post-Election Audit. Senate Bill 1274, signed into law by the Governor this past session, created a post-election audit after each primary and general election. The counties were chosen by random ball draw weighted proportionally to their population, after which precincts from within those counties were selected.

Idaho Secretary of State to Conduct Primary Postelection Audit

Idaho Secretary of State Lawerence Denney selected counties and precincts for the Post-Election Audit on Tuesday, May 24th. The audit will take place over the next three days at the following counties and precincts. Teams have already been dispatched to some locations.

Polling Location, School Placed on Temporary Lockdown

The Idaho Secretary of State’s Elections Operations Center, located in the Idaho State Capitol building, received reports earlier today of a situation involving potential shots fired in the vicinity of Wood River Middle School in Hailey Idaho. The incident has been investigated by local law enforcement, and it has been determined that there were no actual gunshots fired. As of 11:30 am, all temporary lockdowns were lifted at local schools and polling locations.

System Upgrade In Progress

Campaign Finance, Lobbyist Reporting, and Online Voter Tools are expected to be offline from April 9th at 5:00 p.m. MDT, through April 12th at 8:00 a.m. MDT to complete a system upgrade.

Per Idaho Code 67-6607, campaign finance is reported monthly during a campaign’s election year. The deadline for the March report falls on Saturday, April 10th. Due to the interruption caused by this upgrade, political treasurers will be allowed to file the March report until 11:59 p.m. MDT on Monday, April 12th.

While we do our best to ensure compliance with all deadlines in statute, the timing of this release is critical to ensure minimal (or no) impact to the May election cycle. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
